Ana Morrison

Director

Ana Morrison (Ngāti Whakaue, Ngāti Tuwharetoa, and Pākeh) is married to Greg and together they have two young sons, Taokahu and Reone who attend Te Kura Kaupapa Māori o Te Koutu in Rotorua.

A qualified lawyer with national and international experience, she practiced in the areas of indigenous rights, commercial law, and risk & compliance. Upon her return to New Zealand, Ana worked in community development at management and executive leadership levels.  She is an experienced governance practitioner, having chosen to combine her commercial and cultural acumen to decision-making that positively impact communities, tamariki and whānau. She continues to be actively engaged in leadership and transformation activities within her community and hapū including marae and Te Reo revitalisation. She is active in progressing diversity and equity at the governance table.

Ana currently hold governance positions on Lakes District Health Board (ministerial appointment), Rotorua Lakes Council’s Strategy, Policy and Finance Committee, Scion’s Pre-Seed Accelerator Investment Fund, Te Tatau o Te Arawa – Te Arawa Partnership board with Rotorua Lakes Council, Ngāti Whakaue Assets Trust – the commercial investment organisation of Ngāti Whakaue, and number of private companies in the property sector.

A graduate of the Global Women Breakthrough Leaders programme in 2014, Ana has just completed the IOD’s 2016 Mentoring for Diversity programme and in June 2017 will represent New Zealand in the Change Makers: Women in Political and Social Sectors cohort of the US State Department International Visitor Leadership Programme.
