Digital Producer, Attitude Pictures
Olivia Shivas is the digital producer at Attitude Pictures, a media company specialising in video content about disability and health conditions. With a lived experience of disability and a Chinese/Malaysian background, Olivia is passionate about empowering groups and communities that are often marginalised.
The 23-year-old is the youngest member on the Board of Trustees at StarJam, a not-for-profit organisation providing free musical workshops for young people with disabilities. After being involved with StarJam for more than eight years, she’s honoured to give back to an organisation that has provided her with many opportunities.
In 2016, Olivia was voted onto the Muscular Dystrophy Association’s National Council as the Rangatahi Youth Representative. In this role, she reports to the council on behalf of the youth, organises events and support young people with muscular dystrophy to live life to the fullest.
Olivia is a trained journalist; she has a Bachelor of Communication Studies (with Honours) from AUT and completed her post-graduate studies at the University of Helsinki in Finland. In her spare time, Olivia enjoys baking, trying out new cafes and volunteering through Radio Lollipop at Starship Children’s Hospital.
