Sandra Kailahi

Strategic Communications Manager, Alliance Community Initiatives Trust 

Sandra has worked in mainstream and Pacific Radio and television for over 25 years.  She helped set up Radio 531 PI, the first semi-commercial Pacific radio station in Auckland before moving into television with Tagata Pasifika, Fair Go, TVNZ 7, Te Karere and One News.

She’s a published author and playwright and helped form the Pacific Islands Media Association.  Sandra sits on the board of the National Pacific Radio Trust, is the Chair of the Pasifika Advisory Group at the Auckland War Museum and is a member of the Advisory Board for Auckland Council’s Mayoral Fund for the Pacific.

These days Sandra is a freelance media and communications practitioner and is working on producing a short film and a feature length documentary.

She is also currently studying towards her Masters in International Communications.
