Elvira Bobekova

I am originally from Kyrgyzstan and came to New Zealand in 2005 after I won a scholarship to do my MA at the University of Auckland. After successfully completing my Master’s degree I started my career in New Zealand in executive search. In 2010 I got another scholarship to do my PhD at the University of Otago.

Currently I am the Senior Innovation Specialist at Auckland Council Recruitment team. I drive innovative initiatives to scope and manage the implementation of projects relating to talent acquisition into the Innovation Hub and the wider Recruitment & Talent team.

My background is very diverse; some might find this to be a bit eclectic, but I believe this truly reflects who I am. I have a wide range of interests which are reflected in my career working in education, not-for-profit, development sector and recently in recruitment. Prior to joining Auckland Council, I worked in executive search for 10 years helping to match great leaders with great companies across different sectors.

I am a mother of two girls and in my free time I love staying physically active, learning about self-development, run my blog and volunteering as a Trustee at Trade Aid.

I speak three languages (Kyrgyz, Russian and English) and a mother of two girls. Please follow me on Twitter @ebobkg or connect with me via Linkedin. Check out my blog www.my-maxims.com
