Shuchi Kothari

Filmaker and Associate Professor, Media/Film and Television – University of Auckland

Dr. Shuchi Kothari is a filmmaker based in New Zealand where she teaches Screen Production at the University of Auckland. She has written and/or produced several award winning films (Apron Strings, Firaaq, Coffee & Allah, Fleeting Beauty) that have screened at international festivals as diverse as Toronto, Telluride, Venice, Cannes, and Busan. Among other projects, she’s currently writing an animated feature screenplay set in USA and Japan.  Her other research interests are digital storytelling, and narratives of food cultures.
